Meet Our Doctor

Dr. Travis received his Doctor of Optometry from the Southern California College of Optometry where he was salutatorian of the class of 2021, and his bachelor's degree from Brown University in 2014. He grew up locally in Cave Creek and is a graduate of Cactus Shadows High School.

I’m a primary care optometrist, which means that I prescribe glasses, contact lenses, and perform comprehensive eye exams. And as an independent small business owner, I have the freedom to tailor your eyecare experience to you in the way that I think is most enjoyable and natural – with personal attention. What sets my care apart is that I like being there for every aspect of the eyecare experience – answering calls and text messages, scheduling exams, and helping you choose eyewear. Being your neighborhood eye doctor, my goal is to bring high-quality eyecare right to you.

So happy we found Dr. Travis' practice that accepts our vision insurance. It is very clean, organized, professional, stylish, and homey all at the same time. You can tell Dr. Travis takes a lot of pride in his shop. From the user friendly super high tech equipment I haven't seen elsewhere to the personalized service, we will be back. I took myself and two girls 6 and 4, for our annual eye exams. Super easy to schedule (you can directly text or call Dr. Travis which definitely adds to the in-the-neighboorhood feel) and had availability that fit around my work and the girls' school schedule. It was our 4 year olds first eye doctor appointment and while her older sister made her more comfortable by going first and showing her how to do it, Dr. Travis' kindness, patience in answering all her questions, and encouragement made her willing to go through the whole exam. I appreciated his honest feedback about how to handle my prescription. As another review mentioned, there is no pressure at all to buy in his shop (no push back if I wanted my prescription to go) but he was very helpful in giving me options both for glasses and contacts (comparing price points and brand advantages and how that would work with my insurance). At my follow-up glasses fitting, Dr. Travis made sure I was happy with how my frames fit and offered to have me come back at any time for adjustments. We will be back for our annual exams next year (hopefully on a day his dad has given him a few extra delicious homemmade cookies to bring in).

Travis was awesome! Really took his time to dial everything in during the exam. Took his time explaining what he's doing and what we're looking for during the exam. My favorite part of course is choosing your style of glasses. He has a very large and diverse selection. He really let me try on about every pair and I ended up choosing 2 pair. 1 was more professional and the other just had more style n personality. Travis was fantastic to work with. Go see him!

My daughter and I went to Travis Optometry out of pure convenience of location and I’m so glad we did. Dr. Travis far exceeded my expectations. He was VERY thorough with our exams and explained everything for both of our prescriptions. My daughter had expressed to me an interest in trying contact lenses again but was nervous about it the day of our exams, however Dr. Travis was extremely patient in explaining how to put them in and take them out, which made her feel less apprehensive about wearing them. The office is beautifully decorated and there is a large selection of frames if you choose to purchase your glasses from Dr. Travis. If not, he gives you the prescription to take with you. I didn’t feel pressured at all to purchase glasses there, which is unlike past experiences at other optometrist’s offices. My daughter did find frames that she absolutely loves and feels confident wearing and once the order was placed her new glasses arrived within a week. I’d highly recommend Dr. Travis and we will definitely see him again next year.

I visited Dr. Travis to look at frames for a new pair of glasses. The frame selection was excellent and I found exactly what I was looking for. The glasses arrived within two weeks and are the most comfortable glasses I have had in a long time. Dr. Travis followed up with me several days later to make sure everything was to my satisfaction.
